Small article in the NY Post

Thanks to Mystar at terrygoodkind.net for posting the news about this over there, but I wonder what this reviewer was thinking when he wrote it. Sounds like he knows little about the show – did he even watch the DVD once he got it open?

SECRET ‘SEEKER’
FIRST LOOK AT BUZZIEST WIZARDS

Have Sword of Truth, will travel.

That could be the motto for a new TV hero arriving next month who uses his newly acquired sword less for truth-telling than for slicing, stabbing, slashing and beheading.

He’s a young woodsman named Richard Cypher, who lives in a land of magic and mystery, battling winged demons and armored barbarians in “Legend of the Seeker,” a new syndicated fantasy series from producers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, the men who brought you “Xena: Warrior Princess” and “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.”

A preview DVD of this new swords-and-sorcerers series arrived yesterday, sealed in a plastic case that was harder to open than a bottle of Tylenol.

The producers, whose previous shows developed huge followings, evidently believe that “Seeker” will leak onto the Internet if it should fall into the wrong hands.

Well, their DVD is safe with me, and so are the proprietary plot points of their show.

I will reveal the following, however: The Seeker (Craig Horner), armed with his trusty Sword of Truth, is joined in his travels by a beautiful witch (Bridget Regan) and a wise, old, long-haired wizard named Zedd (Bruce Spence, left) who looks like Johnny (or Edgar) Winter.

This Seeker isn’t exactly trying to find the key to 50 million fables, as the Who song said, but he is on the trail of a devilish despot named Darken who wants to control every living thing in the forest, right down to the fairies and night wisps.

To find out more, you’re going to have to wait for the two-hour premiere of “Legend of the Seeker” Nov. 1 on Ch. 11.
