Sci-Fi acquires US fantasy drama
1 July, 2009 | By Will HurrellSci-Fi channel has snapped up the UK, pay-TV rights to ABC Studio’s Legend of the Seeker, a fantasy drama series executive produced by Spider-Man director Sam Raimi.
The channel has acquired the first two seasons, which each comprise 22 x 60-minute episodes, from Disney/ABC/ESPN Television and it will debut the drama in August.
PACKED To The Rafters star Jessica Marais has set her sights on working in Hollywood, with an agent looking for roles.
The Logie-winner recently signed with United Talent Agency, one of America’s largest talent agencies whose books boast such talents as Johnny Depp, Harrison Ford, Charlize Theron and Kirsten Dunst.
Despite the new contract, Marais, who plays daughter Rachel, has said she was in no hurry to make the move to Los Angeles.
“There are no plans to move there just yet - it’s more to have people on the ground over there looking at scripts and seeking out opportunities for me,” Marais said.

I think we need more signatures!!
Fans of “Legend of the Seeker” star Bridget Regan have big hopes for the actress in an online petition right now, and if they have their way she might be going to toe-to-toe with Beyonce and Jessica Biel for the role of Wonder Woman.
The role of DC Comics’ premier super-heroine, which Megan Fox is apparently not interested in, is still uncommitted at this point if the film is indeed moving forward.
“We feel that [Bridget Regan] has all the right qualities to give justice to the character of Wonder Woman,” reads the online petition located at PetitionSpot. “All we are asking is to at least give Bridget Regan a screen test to see if she fits the necessary requirements to fulfill the role of Wonder Woman.”The statement, addressed to Warner Brothers, DC Comics, and Disney ABC currently has just over a hundred signatures from Regan’s supporters, urging anyone in charge of the project to give her a screen test.
Warner Bros. likely needs to find a “Wonder Woman” director before casting can commence, but as that search goes on, it should give the actress’s online community time to collect more names.
